The Treasurer–Tax Collector’s Office is committed to providing exceptional service to the community through the efficient collection, prudent management, and responsible investment of public funds that support vital public services.
The Treasurer serves as the County’s banker, providing services to County departments, local school districts, and numerous special districts. The Treasurer’s Office manages and invests pooled funds in compliance with Government Code requirements and the County’s Investment Policy, ensuring fiscal integrity and the protection of public resources.
The Tax Collector’s Office supports taxpayers, County departments, and the public by providing accurate and timely information on current and prior real estate and personal property taxes. Working closely with the Assessor and Auditor, the office helps educate the public on the assessment, collection, and distribution of taxes. The Tax Collector is responsible for collecting property taxes, general obligation bonds, direct charges, and special assessments on behalf of more than 40 taxing agencies throughout Calaveras County.
